Every year on March 14th, the world celebrates Pi Day, a nod to the mathematical constant 3.14. This year, the CartonCraft team found a simple way to celebrate: delivering a little sweetness to families who could use it most.
To mark the day, CartonCraft team members visited every Ronald McDonald House in the Chicagoland area, as well as nearby hospital waiting rooms, to deliver McDonald’s apple pies to guests and families keeping vigil over loved ones in care.
Ronald McDonald House provides free temporary housing to families while their child receives treatment at a nearby hospital, a lifeline that removes one burden during some of the most difficult days a family can face. For those families, a small sweet surprise in the middle of an otherwise hard day can mean more than words can capture.
A fun fact worth noting: McDonald’s apple pies are supplied exclusively by Bama Pie, a partnership that has been in place since 1968. Every pie purchased is part of the broader McDonald’s ecosystem that helps sustain Ronald McDonald House programs around the world.
