As a printer and converter of natural fiber substrates for packaging, we understand the immense value of sustainability. This is why we are mindful of where our materials come from and where they end up after use. We work with several organizations and actively pursue certifications that help us to do our part as part of the packaging industry.
Sustainability programs include:
The Forest Stewardship Council Certification. This organization’s goal is to protect healthy and resilient forests. We are proud to source eco-friendly packaging materials from FSC-certified forests, which promotes healthy ecosystems and supports their mission: “ensuring forests for all, forever.”
Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Certification. This organization sets standards to help consumers purchase products from sustainably managed forests. CartonCraft is proud to have achieved certification from the SFI for sourcing materials from responsibly managed forests.
Foodservice Packaging Institute. As members, we are helping to create a more sustainable foodservice packaging industry. Within the Institute, we are members of the Paper Recovery Alliance/Plastics Recovery Group. As part of the group, we work with communities, recycling facilities, composters, and end markets to get more paper and plastic foodservice packaging recycled or composted.
PEFC Certification. We are certified by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification, a leading global alliance of national forest certification systems. Their goal when working with supply chain businesses is to ensure that the certified forest-based material contained in a product originates from sustainably managed forests.
Sorbits by AbsorbTech. Sorbits is an eco-friendly reusable oil absorbent solution for managing oil spills and leakage within our facilities—it is an alternative to disposable oil absorbent pads, mats, socks, and more. This technology eliminates a waste stream and is a zero landfill solution, diverting an average per customer of over 3,400 pounds of solid waste from landfills each year.
