Every night, hundreds of families across the country are benefiting from the services and housing at Ronald McDonald House Charities. These families are given a place to rest and recharge between visits with family members who are undergoing treatment. As part of our commitment to this important cause, CartonCraft employees provide and serve dinner once a month to families staying at the beautiful, welcoming Ronald McDonald House in Winfield near Northwestern Medicine Central Dupage Hospital.
For this monthly dinner, CartonCraft CEO Tony Reyes provides and prepares the food, and a rotating group of volunteers from the CartonCraft team serves it to the families who are staying in the house. As an added treat we also bring professional jazz musicians to entertain families during the dinner hour.
Tony Reyes Jr., Vice President of CartonCraft, studied Jazz in college and made connections with many jazz musicians in the process. It has been a long time goal to bring beautiful music to the families staying at the Ronald McDonald Houses. For the last 6 months, families have enjoyed live music with dinner, and many have remarked that their spirits were lifted by these performances.
Our team loves the opportunity to participate in this monthly tradition. Families are often at the house for one or two of our meals, and we enjoy spending time with them and taking part in the Ronald McDonald House Charities cause—assuring they have a warm, friendly home away from home.
